50 years since boby trolley created

Cesare (known as Joe) Colombo was born in Milan in 1930. Essentially self-taught, he attended the Academy in Brera and then the university of Architecture at the Politecnico in Milan for a few years. Before becoming a designer, he worked as a painter, builder, car salesman and he had a company in the electrics field.
In 1963 he opened his first studio in Milan. In 1964 he won 3 medals at the "XIII Triennale" in Milan. In 1967 he won the Gold Compass. In 1968 he received his first International Design Award in Chicago. In 1969 three of his objects were already part of the permanent collection at MOMA. He died prematurely on 30th July 1971 on his 41st birthday.

Functionality and detail are the most important points which offer an undeniably pop flavor and continue to make it the most popular storage trolley. Designed with injection-molded ABS plastic and compartments that guarantee simple vertically modular solutions, Boby provides versatile customized storage capacity, while its polypropylene casters guarantee full mobility
In addition to the most recently launched cumin-colored version, B—Line pays a tribute to the 50th anniversary of this ageless icon of design by proposing a limited and numbered INDIGO-colored series of 150 items.

Eclectic, versatile, dynamic, and functional, Boby trolley is one more time renewed, confirming the celebratory path originally initiated by the company.

Nomadic and transversal by vocation, Boby moves on casters and comfortably integrates with the various domestic environments where spaces are becoming increasingly hybrid and personalized. Its practical and useful sections divided into fan-opening drawers make it perfect for professional and commercial environments as well, completing them with a touch that is refined, original, and “pop”.

Boby is proudly part of the permanent MoMA collection in New York as well as of the “Triennale di Milano”, having attained the 1971 Smau Award.
