Timo Ripatti works as a designer in his own company Studio Ripatti in Helsinki. His designs are sculptural and poetic yet highly functional with a Scandinavian touch. He has gained a whole lot of know-how studying architecture, interior design and furniture design. In 2010 Ornamo honoured Ripatti with an award for The Best Furniture Designer of the Year. 
Timo Ripatti also teaches furniture design in Aalto University in Helsinki and in the Lahti Institute of Design and Fine Arts.
