Born in Barcelona in 1945, Ramon was instructed in industrial design at the Elisava school. In 1973, he established Benedito Design together with Maite Prat. His production initially focused on plastics, but later entered into specialized industry, where he designed laboratory machines and other devices for optics, telephony and microelectronics. He has worked for companies such as Balay, Carlsberg, Contener, Renfe and Repsol. In 1984, together with Josep Puig and Lluis Morillas, he began the Transatlantic, an experimental design group dedicated to technological and formal research, which he held onto until its dissolution in 1989. Its designs, spanning from coffee machines to personal computers or stools, attempt to reflect a warm and Mediterranean line. He received the National Design Prize in 1992.
