ABOUT Raffaele Celentano
Raffaele Celentano was born in Sorrento in 1962. It was in this very city that he shot his first photographs, paving the way for a career as a professional photographer. First Celentano worked as a teacher. In 1986 Raffaele Celentano moved to Munich and taught Italian linguistics there. During this time he discovered his passion for his camera, which has not let go of him since 1991 at the latest. This year, Celentano won first prize in a photo competition. The following year, Asia became Raffaele Celentano's subject of choice. The photos taken there have been published in numerous international magazines. In 1988, Raffaele Celentano became a member of the Laif agency. Together they celebrated great success and Celentano's photos had the largest circulation within the agency. Raffaele Celentano's work can be found in numerous books, advertisements and magazines such as Merian, ADAC Magazin, Spiegel Special or Italian Vogue. Raffaele Celentano has been giving photography workshops in Italy since 2004, in which he explains and passes on his methods and techniques. In 2006 he opened his own gallery in Munich. Raffaele Celentano was also active in the field of product design and designed the experimental Campari Light pendant lamp for Ingo Maurer.
