ABOUT Hugo Formiga and Teresa Almeida

In 2016 in Lisbon, Portugal, a team of architects Hugo Formiga and Teresa Almeida started a design brand OWL paperlamps inspired by origami art. They offer handmade lamp designs in shape of owl, parrot, tortoise, penguin and more. The lamps are perfect to illuminate any space in the house and when turned off are still an amazing decorative piece. Each kit comes with a full cut out paper model and a base with a light bulb socket and electrical cable with switch. There is also an assembly guide.

Hugo is our head designer employing all his 3D modelling skills to give shape to our designs. He works as an architect in Lisbon and dedicates a good amount of time to building our family of OWL paperlamps.

Teresa is envolved throughout the whole conception and production process of OWL paperlamps. She is an architect in Lisbon and spends her time in the studio surrounded by the crowd of paper models that pop up all around her.
