Giotto Stoppino is an architect (Vigevano, 1926 - 2011).

After studying in Milan and Venice, Stoppino becomes an associate of Vittorio Gregotti and Ludovico Meneghetti (Associati Architects 1953-1968). Together, they design pieces such as the Cavour Armchair(1959). He opens his own studio in 1968 and mainly works on design for the home. Since 1960 member of the Association for Industrial Design (ADI) twice in the adi steering committee ADI 66-68 and 71-73, he was president Association for Industrial Design (ADI) in the years 82-84. He also chaired the International ICSID '83 Congress in Milan. He had two honorable reports: Compasso d'oro '60 and '70 Award, twice compasso d'oro '79 and '89. Stoppino has been present since 1970 at the Museum of Modern Art in New York with the lamp 537 Arteluce in the permanent collection, while the Sheraton cabinet has been part of the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London since 1981. On July 12, 2011 he obtained the Compasso d'Oro for his career on the occasion of the XXII edition of the award.
