ABOUT Roberto Semprini

Born in Rimini in 1959, he studied architecture in Florence, where he graduated in 1986. In 1987 he is part of the "Bolidismo" design group. In 1988 he moved to Milan where he collaborated with the set design of "Fuori Orario" program for RAI 3 and to the furnishing of the disco "Bolidò" in New York. In 1989 he created for DISFORM (Barcelona) "Delfin", a table-sculpture on display at the New Museum of Design in London. He worked as a journalist for the design magazine Modo. "Tatlin" for Edra, spiral-shaped sofa inspired by the tower of the author of the same name.In 1993 in Dusseldorf with "Tatlin" enters the prestigious international selection of Top Ten.In 1994 with "Manta" curved glass table produced by FIAM il Young & Design competition. In 1995 he designed the "Chicciola" armchair for Arredaesse and the "Riccione" chaise-longue for Moroso. In 1996 he presented the "reverse order" furniture collection for Camaeti Arte. In 1997 he designed a collection of objects for the table in curved crystal for R.S.V.P. In 1998 he collaborates with Rede Guzzini and Laboratorio Pesaro. In 1999 he collaborates with Alivar, Ciacci and presents the new furniture collection for Arredaesse. He has held seminars and conferences at the Reggio Emilia Project University, at the European Institute of Design in Milan, at ISIA in Florence, at the IAV of Orleans (France) and at the Polytechnic of Milan. He is currently a professor of Design at the A. B.B. di Brera-Milan. Collaborated with: Edra, Arredaesse, Moroso, Tonelli, C.N.Intern., Ferrart, Trivellini, Camaeti Art, Play Line, R.S.V.P., Valdichienti, Laboratory Pesaro, Alivar, Ciacci.
